In March 2022, EJE LAW welcomed Former Presiding Judge Jong Hwan Lee to the firm.

Former Presiding Judge Jong Hwan Lee began his judicial career in 2004 as a judge at the Suwon District Court, and subsequently served as a judge at the Seoul Central District Court, the Jeonju Panel of the Gwangju High Court, and as a Research Judge at the Supreme Court. He later held senior positions including Chief Judge of the Haenam Branch of the Gwangju District Court, Presiding Judge at the Incheon District Court, and Presiding Judge at the Seoul Administrative Court, before retiring from the bench in February 2022.

Former Presiding Judge Jong-Hwan Lee handled a broad range of judicial duties throughout his career, including civil and criminal trials, as well as tax, administrative, and warrant proceedings. Notably, in January 2022, during his tenure as Presiding Judge at the Seoul Administrative Court, he issued the first-ever injunction suspending the effectiveness of the government's COVID-19 "vaccine pass" policy—specifically, the portion of the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s special quarantine measures that designated private academies, study rooms, and study cafés as facilities subject to mandatory vaccine pass requirements.

At EJE LAW, Former Presiding Judge Jong Hwan Lee is expected to further strengthen the firm’s litigation practice by leveraging his 18 years of extensive judicial experience.
