In June 2024, EJE LAW established a Public Procurement Team with the goal of providing comprehensive total-care services throughout the entire public procurement process, including full support for corporate legal affairs.
- The Public Procurement Team is comprised of former officials and legal professionals with the most extensive hands-on experience in procurement, including a former Head of the Litigation Team at the Public Procurement Service (PPS), the President of the PPS Education Center, and in-house counsel at the PPS. The team also includes a former Presiding Judge of the Seoul Administrative Court, who presided over procurement-related cases. Through close collaboration among these experts, EJE LAW is set to become the first law firm in Korea to offer a truly comprehensive total-care service in the field of public procurement.
- With over 3,000 cases of procurement-related litigation and advisory experience, and up to 34 years of service at the Public Procurement Service (PPS), the Public Procurement Team brings unmatched expertise in the procurement field. Leveraging this expertise as well as an extensive professional network and institutional knowledge, the team is expected to provide practical and strategic support to existing procurement companies as well as businesses seeking to enter the public procurement market.
- The Public Procurement Team aims to play an active role throughout the entire process by which companies enter, grow, and expand within the public procurement market—valued at approximately KRW 210 trillion annually. The team is also committed to helping companies realize these objectives while mitigating risks of disadvantage or exclusion from the procurement system.
- In addition, EJE LAW plans to leverage its expertise, manpower, and accumulated know-how in corporate legal affairs to offer outsourced legal functions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that may lack the capacity to hire in-house legal staffs. This service is designed to provide legal support that rivals, or even exceeds, that of large corporate legal departments.

In June 2024, EJE LAW established the Public Procurement Research Institute to conduct research on procurement systems, institutional reforms focused on businesses and end users, and legislation related to public procurement.
- Mr. Soon Hoo Hong, former President of the PPS Education Center (currently the Public Procurement Capacity Development Institute), has been appointed as the inaugural Director of the Public Procurement Research Institute. With 34 years of experience in researching and lecturing on procurement systems, Mr. Hong has successfully contributed to the implementation of numerous policy initiatives in the public procurement field.
- With the establishment of the Public Procurement Research Institute, EJE LAW is now expected to play a more substantive role in the field of public procurement—extending beyond a basic understanding of the system to include in-depth research on structural issues and improvement measures, as well as undertaking government-commissioned research projects and pursuing legislative proposals related to public procurement.
